About In The Thin Places
This blog is a snapshot into a window of time in my journey. The idea came from a post entitled, "My Thin Place". The Celts believed that there existed in this physical world, beautiful places within nature where the distance between the supernatural & natural worlds seemed be so close that they referred to them as Thin Places. They were real places where you felt close to God - where His Kingdom and your life seemed to collide, at least for a small portion of time. In the Thin Places is a place where I capture those moments in my life, and share the things that awaken my spirit. They are stories from the everydayness of my own life, as well as the stories of others.

This is one of those paragraphs that seems to take forever to write. It's difficult to define who I am, but I'll try by the things that we typically define ourselves in...
- My Work... I direct the Internet development and operations for GiANT Impact, an inspirational leadership company focused on awakening leaders based out of Atlanta, GA in the U.S.
- My Family... I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world, Andrea, and have three wonderful kids: Josiah, Micah & Emerie. Oh, and a Sheltie named Mercy.
- My Hobbies... Always love a good book. Enjoy technology, especially those things that are just around the corner. My music tastes are very ecletic. I love being in the company of friends, and love having them in our home, although I am most energized by some quiet time by myself. Love sports, especially the OU Sooners (football) & KU Jayhawks (basketball) - a dichotomy produced from having Oklahoma roots while being raised in southeast Kansas.
- My Passions... I care deeply for the Church, although I get frustrated by the church a lot of the time. I believe in freedom in Christ, and hurt or get angry when I see people either living without freedom in their own lives or squashing the freedom of others. I desire to see a reformed Church, whole again & dangerous as it was meant to be.
What Are Thin Places?
"Thin Places" are rich in Celtic tradition. They are the places in our lives where the divine and the natural worlds come so close together that we can catch a glimpse of God. For the Celtics these places were very real - places within creation where we could physically go. The Thin Places in our own lives are those moments where the space between us & the Kingdom is thin, when we are introduced to a greater glimpse of Who He is through our experiences and through the stories of others.
