8.8.08 Has Arrived!

Today is the day I’ve been looking forward to for several months - the Beijing Olympics begin with the opening ceremonies tonight (7:30pm EST)! Ever since we got our HDTV back around March Madness, we have been anticipating today.
Last time around, we were Olympic junkies. Thanks to my TiVo at the time we literally recorded the Olympics coverage around the clock so we could watch whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted to. The pattern - one that I’m sure to repeat - was “get up, go to work, come home, eat dinner, watch Olympics, lather, rinse, repeat.”
To add to the excitement, I just found out that DirecTV is going to work its magic once more. Back in April they provided extended coverage for the Masters, which was incredible. For the Olympics they’ll be broadcasting several additional DirecTV-exclusive channels - providing instant, on demand highlight clips, medals coverage, trivia and more!

What Are Thin Places?
"Thin Places" are rich in Celtic tradition. They are the places in our lives where the divine and the natural worlds come so close together that we can catch a glimpse of God. For the Celtics these places were very real - places within creation where we could physically go. The Thin Places in our own lives are those moments where the space between us & the Kingdom is thin, when we are introduced to a greater glimpse of Who He is through our experiences and through the stories of others.
