A Week of New Beginnings
There’s a big part of me that thrives off of new beginnings.
We’ve experienced our fair share of restarts over the course of the last 15 years. Georgia is our sixth state - Missouri, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and now Georgia. We’ve been a part of several different careers - from full-time, part-time, and volunteer ministry, to web design, publishing, marketing, and technology. We’ve been a part of traditional churches along the way, house churches, and everywhere in between. Our kids have been to private schools, public schools, and homeschooled in between. We’ve known what it’s like to be 15 minutes drive away from family, and what it’s like to be 15 hours away from family.
Change is a part of the norm of our lives… and I like it that way.
While change can be nerve-wracking, there is something fresh that comes with being able to start over - to re-invision who you are and where you’re going on a fairly regular schedule. I think that’s part of what I love about GiANT. We’re constantly looking for ways to serve leaders and make a relevant impact in their lives.
But while GiANT Impact has been in existence for three years now, there is part of who we are and who we want to be that has had to co-exist with some of who we were. That’s not altogether a bad thing - you can learn from where you’ve been - but it is time for a change and a new rebirth, of sorts.
And so, beginning at the end of this week GiANT will have a new chance to stretch its wings and reach even further toward where we are striving to be as we move from our current offices to a new location.
And it’s one more change that I’m eagerly anticipating being a part of.

What Are Thin Places?
"Thin Places" are rich in Celtic tradition. They are the places in our lives where the divine and the natural worlds come so close together that we can catch a glimpse of God. For the Celtics these places were very real - places within creation where we could physically go. The Thin Places in our own lives are those moments where the space between us & the Kingdom is thin, when we are introduced to a greater glimpse of Who He is through our experiences and through the stories of others.
