Grade “B” iPhone Apps
I highlighted some of my “must have” iPhone apps yesterday - the ones that I use on a regular basis. There are a host of others I have installed that don’t get as much love, but are still good ones to check out.
The following are my grade “B” iPhone Apps (again, all are free):
——-
Aurora Feint - One of the coolest games made for the iPhone… and it’s free!
Eventful - I like the concept of this app. I think it’s probably the website that I’ve discovered and enjoyed the most, but the app is a nice connection point.
Evernote - Another website/desktop tool that I have installed, like the concept of, but just haven’t used that much. This is the iPhone interface.
Jott for iPhone - Yet again - I use the web site/service all the time. This allows you to record notes via your phone that will sync up with your online account as well.
Labyrinth Lite Edition - Fun game to play around with the iPhone’s accelerometer.
Moonlight Mahjong Lite - Love this game. One of the most unique board/puzzle game interfaces as it allows you to zoom in and out, rotate, etc. the 3D board.
Pandora Radio - This is the app that seems to be getting some of the most buzz right now. Like the concept. Just never have much opportunity to listen to the ‘radio’ (virtual or not) via my phone.
Urbanspoon - This one is worth the install just for the cool way you can pick restaurants in your area - Vegas style!
WeatherBug - More full-featured weather app than the default one installed on the phone. You can even watch radar move across the map.
1Password (free for now) - 1Password is hands-down the most used OS X app I own. Been waiting for this interface for awhile. Bad news is that I don’t have the newest version of the desktop app, so I can’t sync :-( Great app, though!
——-
As I said before, I haven’t ventured into any paid apps yet. If I were to, however, these would be top on my list to grab:
Texas Hold’em - $4.99
What can I say? I’m a Texas Hold’em fan. This one looks like it has great graphics.
Super Monkey Ball - $9.99
This ones just seems like it fits the iPhone. Great use of the accelerometer again.
Scrabble - $9.99
I’m sure I’d grab this one, challenge my wife to a game, and proceed to get my butt kicked.
Teleport - $24.99
A VNC Client for the iPhone. Using it you can control your Mac or PC from the phone. I’d probably buy this one (even with its hefty price tag) just to be able to say, “What this!”
Starmap - $11.99
This is a digital version of those glow-in-the-dark star maps you can pick up a your local bookstore. This one would be fun to use with the kids.

What Are Thin Places?
"Thin Places" are rich in Celtic tradition. They are the places in our lives where the divine and the natural worlds come so close together that we can catch a glimpse of God. For the Celtics these places were very real - places within creation where we could physically go. The Thin Places in our own lives are those moments where the space between us & the Kingdom is thin, when we are introduced to a greater glimpse of Who He is through our experiences and through the stories of others.
