My New Favorite Apple Feature

Ran into this last night while restoring my iPhone. Not sure if it is a new feature of iTunes 8.0, but I noticed a button/menu option for the first time. It’s located at the bottom right of my iTunes window and has a speaker icon next to it. By default it says “Computer.” When I click it, though, I now have the ability to commandeer the AppleTV in our living room to output the sound from my iTunes running on either my laptop or our home computer.
As I’ve pointed out before, Apple already makes probably my favorite iPhone app simply called Apple Remote that allows you to remote control your iTunes library on your computer or your AppleTV to play music from your fingertips. What this new iTunes feature does, though, “one ups” this app by giving you the ability to control the output of your iTunes library from anywhere in the house (provided I have my laptop with me), whereas Apple Remote only lets you play music actually residing on the Apple TV.
The coolest feature, though, is that it gives you a “Multiple Speakers” option where you can select by the laptop/desktop computer and the AppleTV. Now Andrea can start music playing on our computer in the kitchen/family room and also have it running through the home theater system in the living room at the same time!

What Are Thin Places?
"Thin Places" are rich in Celtic tradition. They are the places in our lives where the divine and the natural worlds come so close together that we can catch a glimpse of God. For the Celtics these places were very real - places within creation where we could physically go. The Thin Places in our own lives are those moments where the space between us & the Kingdom is thin, when we are introduced to a greater glimpse of Who He is through our experiences and through the stories of others.
