Needing a New Rhythm

Realized I hadn’t posted in several days. So is life these days, I guess. Truth is, my summer rhythm is slowing down, and I’m in need of a new one…
I like ‘rhythm’ in leu of ‘routine.’ Routine has such a negative ring to it. Rhythm speaks of ebb and flow, life as it is meant to be.
I believe rhythm is a spiritual discipline.
It is the balance between work and rest… the 'sweet spot' when things are in sync.
School begins next week for the kids. With it comes new morning patterns, after school patterns, changing ballet and gymnastics and drum lesson days and times, new bedtimes and rise times… the need for a new rhythm in my life.
It's been a good summer. It didn't become the
“Summer of George” that I was fearful it might.
That said, I’m looking forward to the changing winds and seeing what this next season looks like.

What Are Thin Places?
"Thin Places" are rich in Celtic tradition. They are the places in our lives where the divine and the natural worlds come so close together that we can catch a glimpse of God. For the Celtics these places were very real - places within creation where we could physically go. The Thin Places in our own lives are those moments where the space between us & the Kingdom is thin, when we are introduced to a greater glimpse of Who He is through our experiences and through the stories of others.
