Need a Cliff Notes version?

It’s “Saturday is for Sites” again. This week I spotlight five sites that I follow for Apple & iPhone News. Enjoy!
1. AppleInsider
AppleInsider is one of the top sources for Apple news & rumors. Seems to be more grounded in reality, though, compared to most of the other rumor sites - they have good insider information. Good place to find out about new & upcoming Apple technology.
Recent additions…
- New iPhone app streams iTunes collections anywhere
- Inside MobileMe: iPhone’s Exchange alternative for contacts and calendar
- Google Android flaws pushing software firms towards iPhone
2. Mac Rumors
Mac Rumors is another good source for Apple information, although it tends to be quicker on the “rumors” side of things in addition to the regular stream of news.
Recent additions…
- iPhone 2.1 Beta 4 Seeded, Removes Push Notification Service
- Turn by Turn GPS Navigation for iPhone Coming?

3. The Mac Observer
The Mac Observer expands the focus on Apple beyond the normal strain of rumors and news, and includes reviews of Apple hardware & software, media coverage of discussion and articles on Apple-related items, and more. Good larger-scale coverage site. Also has some great newsletters, including a good Quick Tips one that would be helpful for any Mac owner.
Recent additions…
- Dvorak Has Right Idea, Wrong Platform
- Quickly Remove System Preferences
- Wall Street: Apple Worth More than Google
4. Apple Press Info
Any mix of good Apple sites needs to have the official press release section of Apple’s website. This is the best way to keep up with “official” Apple-based news.

- Apple Reports Record Third Quarter Results
- iPhone App Store Downloads Top 10 Million in First Weekend
5. iPhone Alley

What Are Thin Places?
"Thin Places" are rich in Celtic tradition. They are the places in our lives where the divine and the natural worlds come so close together that we can catch a glimpse of God. For the Celtics these places were very real - places within creation where we could physically go. The Thin Places in our own lives are those moments where the space between us & the Kingdom is thin, when we are introduced to a greater glimpse of Who He is through our experiences and through the stories of others.
