Sites I Follow: Marketing

It’s “Saturday is for Sites” again. This week I spotlight five sites that I follow for Marketing. Enjoy!
1. iMedia Connection
This site was at the top of a list of sites I got from asking an e-marketing friend of mine at LifeWay to send me his top marketing sites. Nearly a year later I can still see why. iMedia Connection is worth a bookmark for anyone interested in marketing online. My only caveat - the anemic RSS feeds which only give a sentence or two of an article & force you to visit the site to read the entire article.

2. MarketingSherpa
Another great site (and recommendation from my friend). MarketingSherpa has very practical articles and their marketing case studies alone are worth the regular visit to the site. Articles are only available for the first 7 days, though, so it’s best to subscribe to their RSS feed to stay on top of them as they are released. Archived articles are available via their site membership for a fee.

3. Duct Tape Marketing
This site is a new find & read for me, but looks really packed with great information on online marketing. The site is geared toward small businesses, which I think keeps the posts a little more down-to-earth and attainable for just about anybody.

4. Analytics Talk
Okay, not exactly a marketing site. But if you can’t track the results of your marketing campaigns you really have no way of succeeding. Analytics Talk talks about the stats game and has been hands-down the best & most comprehensive resource on this subject - especially as it relates to Google Analytics which we’ve got all the GiANT sites running on.

5. Church Marketing Sucks
I absolutely LOVE Church Marketing Sucks. They do a great job of dissecting marketing efforts by churches in an effort to collectively help the Church do a better job of marketing the most important message of all. Tongue-in-cheek at times, challenging at others - good stuff all around.

What Are Thin Places?
"Thin Places" are rich in Celtic tradition. They are the places in our lives where the divine and the natural worlds come so close together that we can catch a glimpse of God. For the Celtics these places were very real - places within creation where we could physically go. The Thin Places in our own lives are those moments where the space between us & the Kingdom is thin, when we are introduced to a greater glimpse of Who He is through our experiences and through the stories of others.
