Sites I Follow: Personal Blogs, Part One
Need a Cliff Notes version?
If you'd like a filtered view of things I've found useful from these sites & others, you can subscribe to my Google Reader Shared Items.
It’s “Saturday is for Sites” again. I decided to spotlight some personal blogs that I follow on a regular basis. Problem is, I have a TON. The challenge is how to highlight them all without overload or offending anyone :-) Decided to split them up and start alphabetically (by first name). Here are the first five - all are people I know personally. Enjoy!
1. Ben Arment
Ben moved to Atlanta in June to work with Catalyst. He is a former church planter who is a genius when it comes to creating experiential events. His official title is “Experience and Innovation Director.” Andrea & I are really enjoying getting to know Ben & his family (his wife, Ainsley, blogs as well). He blogs on church planting, Catalyst behind-the-scenes, & life in general.

2. Brad Lomenick
Brad is the “fearless leader of Catalyst” (not exactly sure how he got the ‘fearless’ title). He’s a great guy, fun to be around, and highly motivational. Honestly I’d have a hard time seeing anyone else in the charge of leading the Catalyst troops - he’s a perfect fit, in my opinion. He’s also a Sooner fan (he’s from Bristow, OK) which makes him a welcome face in our world! He blogs on Catalyst doings, thoughts on leadership & life in general.

3. Craig Webb
Craig is a good friend living in Nashville. He works at LifeWay Christian Resources as an Internet Producer - serving pastors all over the world. He also serves part-time on staff at our old church, Gladeville Baptist Church as the Minister of Discipleship/Growth. He sends out a weekly enewsletter for pastors called “Pastors Today” (click here to subscribe). He blogs on issues that pastors & other church leaders face.

4. Dustin Ahkuoi
Dustin is another Catalyst friend. He’s also an extremely talented musician and songwriter who helps lead worship through the worship ministries of 12Stone Church here in Atlanta. This is his personal blog where he blogs about faith, family, art & inspiration. You can also check out his music through Play Chase Music or his artist page on MySpace (where you can catch his hilarious parody songs as well). His wife, Miriam, is extremely talented as well.

5. Ginger Swann
Ginger is one of my former writers for Threads while I was at LifeWay. A very talented author & editor, Ginger describes herself as “Tennexan” (a Tennessean living in Texas). She is a copy editor for a nonprofit organization in Dallas. She blogs on faith & life in general.

What Are Thin Places?
"Thin Places" are rich in Celtic tradition. They are the places in our lives where the divine and the natural worlds come so close together that we can catch a glimpse of God. For the Celtics these places were very real - places within creation where we could physically go. The Thin Places in our own lives are those moments where the space between us & the Kingdom is thin, when we are introduced to a greater glimpse of Who He is through our experiences and through the stories of others.
